Bi-weekly Service: TBD

SEA is currently seeking out opportunities for a long-term partnership with a local organization that would benefit from our members' dedicated regular service. If you believe that your Athens organization would benefit from our members' service and that you would like to inquire about forming such a partnership with SEA, please let us know.

Year-long Project

Each school year, SEA commits itself to bettering the university in one big way. We find something that we believe could be done to make UGA a more sustainable community and commit ourselves to making that change over the course of the year. In 2014-2015, we obtained a grant from the Office of Sustainability to reclaim, fix-up, and redistribute abandoned bikes on campus to students who needed them for transportation. This program, called ReCYCLE, has been put on hold due to legal issues, however, keep an eye out on our Facebook page for more information in Fall 2015. In 2013-2014, we worked with UGA Food Services to introduce composting into O-House Dining Hall.

Monthly Service Projects

SEA provides our members with various service opportunities each month that usually relate to our theme of the month. Examples of projects we've done in the past include a waste audit at Stegman Colliseum, roadside clean-ups with Keep Athens Clarke County Beautiful, volunteering with harvesting at UGArden, and much more. Click here to see our monthly themes, and if you have a service opportunity you think we'd be interested in, please contact our Community Service Coordinator, Evan Alden, at ugasea15@gmail.com

Service

SEA is committed to serving our community through action. We do this through a regular bi-weekly program, special service projects relating to the theme of each month, and a year-long project each school year. Please contact our Community Service Chair, Evan Alden, with inquiries at ugasea15@gmail.com.
